A new road sign on Schellingwouderdijk in Landelijk Noord sends people to Raasdorp, when the village it should name is Ransdorp.
Raasdorp is not nearby at all: it is a traffic interchange on the western side of the city, almost 25 kilometres away by car.
A boy who lives in the area called it a really bad mistake. He laughed and said nobody around there has ever heard of Raasdorp.
Another local driving past was less amused, calling the error ridiculous and saying someone should surely have checked the sign before it went up.
Rijkswaterstaat looks into the error
Rijkswaterstaat, the national agency in charge of road signs, says it is looking into how the mistake happened and when the sign can be corrected.
