On select days through late October, Fort Island Pampus opens its bird ringing station to visitors: watch ornithologists catch and tag wild birds up close before releasing them. A quirky, hands-on nature experience that combines a boat trip to the historic island fortress with genuine citizen science. Tickets required; runs 10:30–14:00.
