Early Andy Warhol textile and fabric prints at Museum Cobra
On view in the Netherlands for the first time, this exhibition highlights a lesser-known side of Andy Warhol through experimental fabrics designed for fashion and interiors during the 1950s. Along with food imagery, the pieces feature bold lines, repetition, and subjects ranging from colorful buttons to jumping clowns and toffee apples. Through these patterns, the artist explored how visual language changes when it is multiplied, worn, and integrated into everyday life.
