I’m Fine: Sasha Nezlobin on losing a country and starting over
Sasha Nezlobin brings I'm Fine, a personal stand-up hour about leaving everything behind and starting again from nothing. The show looks at what it means to give up a familiar life, rebuild somewhere new and find some freedom in it, with laughter as the way through. Shows built on a comedian's own story tend to mix big laughs with quieter, more honest moments, and the title suggests a good deal of irony about how fine anyone really is. The subject will be familiar to many people in a city as international as Amsterdam, where plenty of the audience will have made a similar move. Comedy Cafe Amsterdam, near the Leidseplein, is one of the city's longest-running stand-up clubs, and its compact room is well suited to a show this personal.
