Free Children’s Book Week Treasure Hunt Through Scheltema
Young readers go looking for clues among the shelves of Scheltema, one of Amsterdam's biggest and best-known bookshops, trading since the nineteenth century. The hunt is part of the Kinderboekenweek, the national children's book week held every autumn in the Netherlands to encourage children to read for pleasure. A search like this turns a bookshop visit into a game and sends children into sections they might otherwise walk past. With several floors of books, Scheltema gives a treasure hunt plenty of room. Parents may well find something for themselves along the way.
