Organist Sander de Keere plays in the Min of Meer Minimal series at the Orgelpark, which looks at minimal and repetitive music on the organ. The organ suits minimalism well, with its sustained tones, gradual shifts in colour and the way small changes can fill a whole space. The Orgelpark is housed in a former church in Amsterdam-West and has become an international centre for organ music and research, with a collection of instruments ranging from historic to newly built. Its programming often goes beyond the usual organ repertoire to new music, improvisation and experiment. As the title says, a free lunch comes before the concert, which makes it an easy midday visit. Organ enthusiasts and anyone curious about minimal music will both find it rewarding.
