Our Land event takes the stage at De Balie
The film centers on the 2009 attempt by three armed men, claiming ownership of the land, to expel members of the indigenous Chuschagasta community in northern Argentina. The resulting murder of community leader Javier Chocobar was captured on video, sparking nine years of protests and legal battles before a trial finally took place. Renowned Argentine filmmaker Lucrecia Martel, known for feature films such as Zama and La ciénaga, presents this true story through multiple perspectives.
