A sound bath is a session of deep listening, usually lying down or sitting comfortably, while instruments such as gongs, singing bowls and chimes fill the space with long, layered tones. Many people find the experience calming, and it gives the mind a rare chance to slow down and simply follow the sound. The Posthoornkerk is an unusually fitting setting. It is a nineteenth-century church by Pierre Cuypers, the architect of the Rijksmuseum and Centraal Station, and its high vaulted interior lets sound bloom and linger. You don't need any experience, just a willingness to lie back and listen.
