> The Ten Katemarkt in the Kinkerbuurt runs Monday to Saturday next to De Hallen. Hours, food and how to get there.

## What the Ten Katemarkt is

The Ten Katemarkt is a big open-air neighbourhood market in the Kinkerbuurt in Amsterdam West.

It runs along the Ten Katestraat, just off the Kinkerstraat, one of the busier shopping streets in the city.

Next to the daily shopping, the market has stalls selling street food.

## Opening hours

The market’s own website gives the hours as Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 18:00.

It is closed on Sundays and on public holidays.

## Where it is and how to get there

The market’s contact address is Ten Katestraat, 1053 CG Amsterdam.

Tram 7 stops at Ten Katestraat, and tram 17 stops at Postjesweg, a short walk away.

From the city centre it is an easy bike ride.

Our [public transport guide](https://essentiallyamsterdam.com/amsterdam-public-transport-guide/) explains tickets and routes.

## What to buy and eat

This is a neighbourhood market with an international feel, where you can do your daily shopping.

The street food stalls make it a good lunch stop.

## Tips for your visit

The market sits right beside De Hallen, the converted tram depot with a cinema, a library and the Foodhallen food court.

On the last weekend of the month, [The Maker Market](https://essentiallyamsterdam.com/maker-market-de-hallen-amsterdam/) fills the covered passage inside De Hallen, so you can do both in one trip.

Our directory of [cinemas](https://essentiallyamsterdam.com/directory/amsterdam-cinemas/) and [cafes and brunch spots](https://essentiallyamsterdam.com/directory/amsterdam-cafes-brunch/) has more ideas for the rest of the day in West.
