Airportsprinter keeps running during nationwide transit strike: Trains between Amsterdam Centraal and Schiphol will operate four times an hour next Wednesday despite a nationwide shutdown. The rest of the rail network will come to a complete halt.

Hazard lights do not excuse unpaid parking: A driver who left his hazards on while collecting a package must pay his parking fine, a court ruled. Judges determined that collecting a small item does not count as loading.

Government plans deposit return expansion to all bottles: The cabinet wants to add deposits to juice and dairy bottles while forcing most retailers to accept returns. The proposal aims to finally meet statutory plastic recycling targets by 2028.

Canals dredged ahead of Amsterdam City Swim: Waternet crews are scanning and clearing the canal beds between Keizersgracht and Marineterrein this week. More than 3,300 swimmers will take to the water on Sunday to raise money for ALS.

Rabobank blacklists homeowners over unauthorized rental property: Financial complaints board Kifid ruled that the lender acted lawfully when cancelling a mortgage and blacklisting two borrowers. The couple repeatedly rented out their property without permission.
