No trains will run to or from Amsterdam Centraal on Saturday 3 October because of track work at the station.
Travellers can take the metro to Amsterdam Zuid or Amsterdam Amstel and catch a train from there, or continue their train journey from Amsterdam Muiderpoort or Sloterdijk.
NS is also running replacement buses on some routes.
NS tickets valid on the metro
NS tickets can be used on the metro on Saturday 3 October, so expect the metro to be busier than usual.
Fewer trains will run on Sunday 4 and Monday 5 October, and routes and departure times may change.
Check your journey in the journey planner shortly before you leave.
ICE trains to Germany affected
International travellers will also face changes. ICE trains to Germany will not leave from Amsterdam Centraal as they usually do.
The international journey planner has the details.
Track work in the station rebuild
This weekend ProRail is connecting track 11a to the rail network, taking track 14a out of service and adjusting the signalling system.
The work is part of the major rebuild of Amsterdam Centraal, which is expected to last until around 2030.
The platforms will be widened and lengthened, there will be more and wider stairways up to them, and the Oosttunnel will be made wider, giving more room to both travellers and trains.
With the metro standing in for trains out of Centraal that day, it may be worth getting to know how the city’s public transport network fits together before you set off.
