The Guerlain Spa at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam has won the title Netherlands’ Best Hotel Spa 2026 at the World Spa Awards.
The prize was decided by an international vote.
The awards are part of a programme that draws attention to quality in the spa and wellness industry, and the Amsterdam spa took the title in the Dutch hotel spa category.
A spa inside six canal houses
The hotel stands on the Herengracht and takes up six canal houses built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
In that historic setting, the spa offers treatments from the French beauty house Guerlain.
They are tailored to each guest and focus on relaxation, recovery and care.
Guests have three treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam bath, an indoor pool and a fitness centre to choose from.
There is also a relaxation room that looks out over the hotel’s inner garden.
Staff and setting behind the win
General manager Jeroen Werdmölder sees the award as recognition for the hotel’s staff. “This recognition is a wonderful confirmation of the passion, expertise and dedication of our entire team,” he said.
He added that the service is built on personal attention and relaxation.
Spa manager Claudia Veerman said the spa’s offer comes down to a mix of service, personal attention, the setting and Guerlain’s expertise.
