Amsterdam residents can collect a free tree at the Tolhuistuin on Saturday 7 November, as 4,000 trees head for gardens, balconies and roof terraces.
It is the seventh and final edition of Bomen voor Amsterdam, organised by De Gezonde Stad.
Participants register on the foundation’s website and choose one of two easy-care species that grow well in pots: the native wild apple or the cornelian cherry.
