Albert Heijn will resume grocery deliveries on Friday 23 October, ending a stoppage of nearly two weeks.
Earlier this month the supermarket chain hastily shut down several computer systems after what it described as a cybersecurity incident.
Deliveries planned for Friday 23 October or later can be handled again, the company says.
Earlier orders cancelled
Every order in the system up to and including Thursday 22 October has been cancelled, and new orders cannot be placed yet.
The disruption also hit the stores, where fruit and vegetable shelves grew steadily emptier and prices and discounts could barely be updated, if at all.
Cause still unclear
It is still not fully clear why systems at Albert Heijn, Etos, Gall & Gall and other chains had to be switched off.
Hackers may have tried to get into data servers belonging to parent company Ahold Delhaize, and the company’s IT security staff then reportedly took the systems offline as a precaution.
While new Albert Heijn orders are still on hold, you may want to look at other ways to get groceries delivered in Amsterdam.
