Essentially Amsterdam is published by PND Media (KVK 854 488 26), Oudezijds Voorburgwal 129-ii, 1012 EP Amsterdam. This page explains what personal data we handle and why. We keep it deliberately short and in plain language.
What we collect
Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored and processed by beehiiv, the platform that sends it. We use it only to send you the newsletter. Every edition contains an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Website analytics. We use standard analytics (Google tools) to see how many people visit which pages. This data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
Embedded services. Some pages embed third-party services — for example Google Maps on directory and contact pages. When a page with an embed loads, that provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not send marketing on behalf of third parties. We do not create profiles of individual readers.
Directory listings
The business directory contains publicly available business information (name, address, phone number, website, reviews summary). If a listing concerns your business and you want it corrected or removed, email us and we will handle it promptly.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Email info(at)essentiallyamsterdam.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
