Dutch maritime contractor Van Oord has signed a long-term agreement with TMA Logistics to secure dedicated terminal space in the Port of Amsterdam.
The partnership provides the company with direct access to quay facilities and storage areas at a single location in the capital’s port area.
This dedicated base is intended to support the company’s offshore operations as energy infrastructure projects expand in scale and complexity.
Centralized supply chain hub
The new facilities will accommodate large offshore installation vessels, including the company’s specialized ships Boreas and Aeolus.
By consolidating vessel access, mission equipment storage, and maintenance support in one spot, the firm aims to make its supply chain more efficient.
Having fixed quay space allows crews to prepare and service offshore installation equipment without needing to move between different staging areas.
Supporting offshore energy projects
The agreement strengthens the position of the Port of Amsterdam as a key logistical hub for renewable energy infrastructure in the North Sea.
Van Oord regularly manages offshore wind farm construction and dredging activities, requiring reliable deepwater quays to load heavy components.
The new setup is expected to streamline project timelines and lower operational downtime during complex installation campaigns.
