Jean-Michel Jarre will open the 30th anniversary edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event on 21 October. The French electronic composer is the festival’s guest of honour for the milestone year.
The concert at AFAS Live is titled Oxygène & Beyond: A Sonic Journey Celebrating 30 Years of ADE. The performance marks both the festival’s three decades since its 1996 founding and the 50th anniversary of Jarre’s album Oxygène.

Presented by MOJO and Insomniac, the production will feature venue-scale stage mapping, large projections, and custom lighting architecture designed for the main hall.
While the setlist remains unconfirmed beyond the Oxygène theme, the venue’s Black Box space holds a maximum capacity of 5,500 standing visitors.
Located at Arena Boulevard 590 in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, AFAS Live sits opposite the Johan Cruijff ArenA, 100 metres from the Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA train and metro station.
Festival programme and conference
In addition to opening night, Jarre will appear at the ADE Pro conference strand for an exclusive keynote interview. ADE Pro runs from 21 to 24 October.
ADE 2026 takes place until 25 October across more than 200 venues, with more than 3,300 artists expected across the full programme. Last year’s event drew roughly 600,000 visitors from over 150 countries.
