The stretch of Wibautstraat between Prins Bernhardplein and President Steynstraat closes to car traffic on the evening of Friday 9 October and stays shut until the afternoon of Friday 23 October.

Since Wednesday 7 October, crews have been working overnight at the junction of Wibautstraat and Ringdijk, renewing the cycle path, the road and the traffic lights.

Wibautstraat is closed to traffic at night until that work finishes on Friday 9 October.

The work then moves towards Prins Bernhardplein and the full closure for cars begins.

Cyclists can keep using this part of Wibautstraat throughout.

Detours for drivers

Drivers heading for the city centre are advised to take the A10 and use the S114 at Zeeburg to enter the Piet Hein Tunnel.

Another option is to cross the Berlagebrug from Gooiseweg and continue via Amsterdam-Zuid.

Drivers leaving the city can reach the A10 East via Mauritskade, Panamalaan and the Piet Hein Tunnel, or go through Amsterdam-Zuid on roads including Hobbemakade, Stadionweg and Europaplein.
