Erik’s Delicatessen has expanded its presence in Amsterdam East by opening a new takeaway and lunch space called Erik’s Keuken.
Located at Beukenplein 18, the kitchen operates right next door to the original delicatessen shop, filling the premises previously occupied by catering business Sterren aan de Hemel.
The new venue focuses on a daytime menu featuring fresh breakfast, lunch, and prepared evening meals to take away.
Led by manager Koen van Keulen, a former chef who trained at the hotel school in Maastricht, the kitchen offers weekly rotating specialties alongside items like homemade pastries and non-alcoholic drinks such as kombucha.
Daily fresh meals and local sourcing
The space allowed the business to introduce a dedicated takeaway concept while giving the main store more room to showcase its specialty cheeses and gourmet foods. Van Keulen oversees daily operations and works with a small team to create affordable dishes inspired by various culinary traditions.
Erik’s Keuken opens seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Customers looking to pick up dinner meals after 4:00 PM can collect them directly from the main store at Beukenplein 16.
Select dishes created in the new kitchen will eventually be available at the company’s second shop located on Christiaan Huygensplein in Watergraafsmeer.
