Asian fusion restaurant Mr. Sam has renovated its space and updated its menu concept on Amstelveenseweg in Oud-Zuid.
The neighborhood venue, which first opened its doors over eight years ago, focuses on small dishes designed for sharing in the style of a Japanese izakaya.
Refreshed menu and interior updates
The updated food selection blends traditional Southeast Asian flavors with Japanese dining traditions. Guests can order dishes continuously throughout the meal rather than in traditional separate courses.
Alongside the food menu, the restaurant has introduced a revised list of custom mixed cocktails crafted to complement the shared plates. Hospitality sector trends across the city have seen many long-running venues refresh their offerings to match changing local dining preferences.
Longtime neighborhood presence
Situated in the South district of Amsterdam, the kitchen and bar has maintained a steady local customer base since its launch. The venue targets informal dining, combining a relaxed lounge atmosphere with full table service.
The updated venue is now open to diners for evening service throughout the week, offering both indoor seating and reservation options for group dining.
