The Circusbende Festival opened on Thursday afternoon in Erasmuspark, bringing circus acts, music, workshops, and food stalls to the neighbourhood.

Performances will take place across the park until Sunday 30 August, using tents, stages, and open grass areas.

Entry to the festival terrain is free, with many individual shows and activities offered free of charge or on a donation basis.

Festival schedule and permissions

The event opens at 15:00 on Thursday and Friday, and at 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

Activities run until 23:00 each day across the four-day schedule.

Permission for the festival was uncertain earlier this year after the municipality tightened regulations on the use of tent pegs in the park.

Organisers received official approval for the Erasmuspark location in mid-July.
