Amsterdam singer Roxy Dekker will perform a solo concert at the Johan Cruijff Arena next year. The 21-year-old artist from Amsterdam Zuid will be the first Dutch female solo artist to stage a show in the stadium.
The announcement comes as she plays a run of four sold-out concerts at the nearby Ziggo Dome this week.
Rapid rise to stadium stage
Dekker had her breakthrough in 2023 with her debut track Anne-Fleur vakantie. Within a year, she played Paradiso and won an Edison award.
Addressing the rapid ascent, Dekker noted that her career took off in just eighteen months, describing the experience as bizarre.
Because the upcoming stadium concert falls in the middle of the football season, questions arose about potential damage to the venue’s pitch. Dekker dismissed the concern, stating the venue would not have permitted the concert if it posed an issue.
