Check and Greenwheels announced on Monday 19 October that their apps will offer each other’s vehicles from 18 November.
From then, the red Greenwheels cars can be booked in the Check app, and the white and purple Check scooters in the Greenwheels app.
The Pon family business, long a minority shareholder in both, took over all the shares this spring, which made the partnership possible.
Twice as many vehicles
Check founder Paul van Merrienboer says each app now offers about 5,000 vehicles, and both will soon offer around 10,000 shared cars, vans, scooters and e-bikes.
Cargo bikes and other vehicles may be added later.
Co-founder Marco Knitel says running a single platform saves a lot of money, and users will see it in lower prices from 18 November, with subscriptions falling by 50%.
Both brands stay
It is not a full merger, as both brands will continue to exist for now.
Thin margins have made shared mobility a tough business, with Felyx sold for one euro and Go Sharing going bankrupt.
