Lando Norris took victory at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort after recovering from a poor start that initially cost him the lead.
The driver fought back during the race with overtaking moves against Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton to secure the win.
Norris described the performance as one of his best Formula 1 victories, citing the hard fight required after finishing third in the earlier sprint race.
Changes overnight and tyre performance
The team worked overnight with engineers to resolve the lack of pace experienced during the sprint sessions.
Norris noted that the car performed much better once running on hard tyres, allowing him to turn the race in his favour.
The victory in Zandvoort is his second consecutive win of the season, following his victory in Hungary before the summer break.
Farewell to the Dutch circuit
Norris expressed disappointment that Zandvoort will not return to the Formula 1 calendar next season.
He praised the atmosphere created by Dutch supporters along the track while noting that overtaking remained difficult throughout the weekend.
Despite two straight wins, Norris stated he remains cautious about championship expectations due to low-speed cornering advantages held by Ferrari and Mercedes.
