Amsterdam is heading into another warm and dry weekend, with forecasters predicting continuous sunshine and very little chance of rain over the coming week.

Friday starts with pleasant weather and daytime temperatures ranging between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius, as early cloudiness clears up across the country.

Temperatures climbing into the weekend

Saturday will see even more sunshine, with temperatures rising slightly to between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius.

By Sunday, inland areas are expected to reach high temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius, according to meteorologists at KNMI.

Although a brief cooling trend will lower maximum temperatures to about 25 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, warm conditions are likely to return soon after.

Ongoing impact on water levels

The persistent dry weather offers no immediate relief for the ongoing regional drought that has affected much of the Netherlands this summer.

Water levels along the Rhine have dropped toward record lows, prompting regional water authorities to maintain usage restrictions across several areas.
