A hall on the Johan Huizingalaan that was destroyed by fire was being used for tests for the Zuidasdok project, it emerged on Sunday 11 October.
The loss could set back the schedule of the project, which is worth billions.
According to the city, extensive checks were being run in the hall on the control system and other technical parts of the future Schinkelbrug.
Nothing left
That testing stopped abruptly, as the fire left nothing of the building or the equipment inside it.
The city is now looking into how the fire affects the Zuidasdok works and their timing.
It is also trying to find out how the fire started, and has promised to share more once it knows.
Eight bridges for a wider A10
With the A10 Zuid being widened, the Schinkelbrug will eventually be made up of eight separate bridges.
Five of them will carry motorway traffic, two will carry trains and one will carry the metro.
The bridge is currently operated from a temporary site hut beside the Nieuwe Meersluis building, and operation is due to move into the building itself at the end of 2027.
