Several Albert Heijn distribution centres stopped working on Monday 12 October after a digital security incident that began on the afternoon of Sunday 11 October.
CEO Margaret Versteden-van Duijn said systems were switched off as a precaution, hitting store supplies, especially fresh products.
Six distribution centres
The chain has six distribution centres in the Netherlands but would not say which are still running.
It does not know how long this will last, and empty shelves will vary by store.
It cannot yet say whether intruders got into its IT systems.
Old prices, no personal discounts
Stores still show last week’s offer prices, but national bonus offers apply at the till.
Personal Bonuskaart and app discounts do not work. Affected customers will be compensated when possible and should keep their receipts.
The app is not adding savings stamps either.
Delivery drivers locked out
One delivery driver said all drivers were logged out of their route app on Sunday and could not get back in.
Albert Heijn cannot say whether the incident is linked to Monday’s cyberattack on French supermarkets, which pushed refrigeration to 50 degrees.
