KLM has temporarily suspended its flight services from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to several major destinations in the Gulf region due to ongoing security concerns.
The Dutch flag carrier confirmed that flights to Dubai, Riyadh, and Dammam are cancelled through August 23, 2026.
Alongside the cancelled routes, the airline is avoiding the airspace over Iran, Iraq, Israel, and several neighboring countries in the region.
Flight disruptions for routes connecting Schiphol to Beirut are also in place through August 16, 2026.
Impact on travelers at Schiphol
The cancellations affect both direct passengers departing from Amsterdam and international travelers transiting through Schiphol Airport.
KLM stated that it cannot safely resume its regular flight schedule to these destinations under current conditions and is monitoring the situation closely.
Passengers holding tickets for the affected routes issued on or before July 16, 2026, are being offered options to rebook, request a voucher, or claim a full refund.
Under European Union passenger rights regulations, travelers whose flights are canceled by an airline are legally entitled to a full refund or alternative routing to their final destination.

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to update its travel advisories for countries across the Middle East in response to regional tensions.
Travelers based in the Netherlands are advised to check their flight status directly with airlines before heading to Schiphol.
Those traveling abroad can also register their travel details with the Dutch government’s information service to receive safety alerts and emergency updates.
While KLM has grounded its operations on these specific routes, alternative flights operated by other international carriers may still be available out of Amsterdam.
