Amsterdam Fringe Festival returns across 23 city venues

The Amsterdam Fringe Festival runs from Thursday 3 September to Sunday 13 September, featuring over 200 performances across 23 locations in the city.

Established in 2005 alongside the Nederlands Theater Festival, the event focuses on emerging talent across theatre, dance and performance art.

Tickets for festival productions start at 10 euros per person.

Venues and theatre productions

Participating locations across West and Nieuw-West include Podium Mozaïek, The Other Mezrab, Theater de Kraking, DB55, Tillatec, De Sloot and Meervaart.

The programme includes Maja Simisic’s satirical production A Beautiful Cockroach at The Other Mezrab, which examines migration politics and systems of assimilation from 3 to 5 September.

At De Sloot, the comedy De Billen van David by Priscilla Pancras and Tim Veeter runs over the same dates, focusing on class divides and friendship.

Dance and multidisciplinary works

The dance piece Syncdorst by Godelieve Meijers runs from 7 to 10 September at Tillatec, combining techno, animation and choreography ahead of the venue’s planned closure in November.

From 9 to 10 September, Podium Mozaïek hosts Double Sense, a performance by Dennis Massar and Issam Zemmouri focusing on an encounter between a deaf dancer and a blind dancer.

De Sloot will also host The Suddenly and Untimely Death of David Attenborough by Agat Sharma and Intimidation Tactic from 9 to 12 September, depicting folklore and transformed landscapes.
