Willem II fans attending tonight’s match at the Johan Cruijff Arena are being offered a free hamburger by Ajax supporters.
The giveaway is organised by the AFCA Supportersclub, which argues that visiting supporters usually face very poor catering options in stadiums.
Better stadium food
According to the fan club, hot dogs are the only warm meal option currently on the menu for away fans inside the Arena.
Organisers hope as many Willem II supporters as possible accept the free food and skip buying stadium hot dogs.
The supporters club stated that this should help send a clear signal directly to the venue caterer.
Changes at away grounds
Supporters also hope the protest influences policies at other clubs when Ajax travels for away fixtures.
Their goal is to see a wider selection of food available to travelling fans across the league.
The match between Ajax and Willem II kicks off at 20.00.
