The Maker Market at De Hallen Amsterdam: dates, hours and what to buy

What The Maker Market is

The Maker Market is a curated market of makers who sell work they made themselves; there are no resellers and no importers.

In Amsterdam it is held every month in the covered passage of De Hallen, with around 40 makers per edition.

It has been at De Hallen since 2017.

Dates and opening hours

The market takes place on the last weekend of the month, on Saturday from 11:00 to 17:00 and on Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00.

The next De Hallen editions are 24 and 25 October and 28 and 29 November 2026.

In 2026 the market also visits Amstel1 at the Stopera, on Sunday 8 November and Sunday 6 December, from 11:00 to 17:00.

Entry is free and no ticket is needed.

Where it is and how to get there

De Hallen is at Hannie Dankbaarpassage 47, 1053 RT, in Amsterdam West, in a tram depot built in 1902.

Tram 17 stops at Postjesweg, tram 7 at Ten Katestraat, and bus 18 also runs nearby; from Centraal Station it takes about 15 minutes.

The passage is covered, so the market always goes ahead.

What to buy

Expect handmade jewellery, ceramics, clothing and bags, illustrations and prints, small furniture, lamps and candles, natural soaps and skin care, and small-batch food and drink.

Most makers take cards, but a few only take cash, so bring a little just in case.

Tips for your visit

The passage is wide and suits pushchairs and wheelchairs, and dogs on a lead are welcome.

Under the same roof are the Filmhallen cinema and the Foodhallen food court.

See our directory of cinemas for screenings.

The Ten Katemarkt is right outside on Saturdays.

More makers markets

The Sunday Market, the Museum Market and Art Amsterdam Spui also put you face to face with the people who made the work.
