The pigs have left De VerbroederIJ in Amsterdam-Noord, freeing up 180 m², and the meeting place wants the neighbourhood to decide what comes next.

Noord residents can send in ideas up to and including Monday 16 November.

The meeting place on the Johan van Hasseltweg has a community vegetable garden, a flower garden, a workshop space and free activities.

Residents carry out their own plans

It mainly wants people willing to carry out their own idea, and no experience with project plans or budgets is needed.

It provides the space and helps with planning and budgeting.

No money has been set aside, so funding will be sought together, for example through crowdfunding.

Manager Anke says the neighbourhood knows best what it needs, and she especially hopes to hear from people who never attend consultation evenings.

Information sessions and a pitch

Information sessions are on Monday 26 October at 19:00 and Tuesday 27 October at 9:00.

A neighbourhood committee will choose up to five ideas to be pitched on Friday 27 November from 16:00 to 18:00.

The final choice will be announced before the Christmas holidays.
