Fans of Suzan & Freek swamped the Paradiso website on the morning of Friday 9 October as presale tickets went on sale for the duo’s concert at the Amsterdam venue.

When the presale opened, 16,000 people tried to get onto the site at once, for a hall that holds around 1,500.

Some fans saw an error message, and a Paradiso spokesperson said people were getting through in small batches.

The presale for English rock musician Ron Wood, who played Paradiso in September, was less busy.

New album played in full

The duo will give a one-off show at Paradiso on Friday 13 November, playing their new album, Pijnstiller, from start to finish.

Songs from a changed life

Suzan & Freek say they wrote the record when their lives suddenly took a different direction, and that music kept them steady and helped them put their feelings into words.

The ten songs cover what the past year and a half brought them, from love and new life to hard days and a wish to stop time for a while.
