Public transport operator GVB has announced reduced ferry services across the IJ this weekend because of a shortage of skippers.
The transport company has repeatedly struggled to fill weekend rosters in recent weeks, leaving several routes operating below capacity.
Passengers should expect longer waiting times and increased crowding on the affected connections.
Disrupted routes across Saturday and Sunday
On Saturday, one fewer ferry will run between Pontsteiger and NDSM-Werf from 10:30 to 18:35.
The connection between Centraal Station and Buiksloterweg will lose one boat between 11:27 and 20:24, while the Centraal Station to IJplein route will run with one fewer ferry between 10:42 and 18:21.
On Sunday, the route between Centraal Station and IJplein will have one ferry cancelled.
Timetable expansions planned for Tuesday
Despite the current shortage, GVB announced that several ferry connections will expand their timetables starting on Tuesday.
Services on the F1 and F6 routes will run later into the evening.
The F7 ferry between NDSM and Pontsteiger will run twice as often as it currently does during weekday daytime hours.
