Dutch litigators open AI-native law firm in Amsterdam

Two experienced patent litigators have launched Driven Lawyers in Amsterdam, positioning the boutique as the country’s first AI-native law firm.

Arvid van Oorschot, previously a partner at Vondst, and Jelle Drok, a former partner at Freshfields, spent seven months setting up the practice after leaving their previous firms earlier this year.

The practice covers commercial disputes, intellectual property law, and contract and liability cases, with patent proceedings remaining a central component.

Custom software and fixed fees

The firm relies on Driven Drafter, an in-house software platform designed by the founders over the past year. The system embeds their legal frameworks and ties every generated output to a verifiable source.

Rather than billing clients by the hour, the firm operates entirely on pre-agreed fixed fees, which the founders link to the efficiencies gained from their technical platform.

Certain core tasks remain entirely with the attorneys, including strategic assessment, ethical judgment, direct client communication, and courtroom appearances.

Office among tech companies

Driven Lawyers is based in The Stack, an Amsterdam building that houses around 25 artificial intelligence companies.

Both founders bring more than 20 years of litigation experience to the firm, having previously worked together at Freshfields across cases in life sciences, semiconductors, and telecommunications.
