The municipalities of Amsterdam and Diemen are commissioning a new artwork to be placed beneath the A10 motorway on the border between Betondorp and Diemen.

Two proposals are in the running, with one design by artist Anouk Kruithof and another by artist duo Boris Acket and Elsemarijn Bruys.

A selection committee consisting of residents and local cultural entrepreneurs previously selected the artists and will make the final decision at the end of September.

To gather public feedback, the municipality of Diemen is hosting an evening event on Monday, 28 September at 19:30.

The session starts with an explanation of the assignment and a short workshop on how to evaluate art, followed by presentations from the artists.

Participating residents will then discuss the proposals, considering what fits the location and raising any questions or concerns.

The selection committee will listen to the discussions before deliberating in private and announcing the winning design that same evening.

Residents of Betondorp and Diemen can sign up to participate by sending an email to Joanna.van.Dorp@diemen.nl.
