Virgin Voyages recorded a single-day sales record on 13 August, driven by demand for its 2028 Northern Europe cruise season.

The company said every cabin was booked within hours of sales opening, surpassing its previous sales high set on Black Friday 2025.

The Northern Europe season accounted for more than half of the day’s total revenue, nearly two years before the sailings begin.

Itineraries departing from Amsterdam

The sailings will be operated by the cruise ship Valiant Lady across five new itineraries departing from Amsterdam.

The routes will travel to Scandinavian capitals, the fjords of Norway and destinations beyond the Arctic Circle.

An 11-night Arctic Circle voyage was an early standout among the bookings.

The operator is also offering a Summer Season Pass covering all four Northern Europe voyages without the repositioning trip back to Southern Europe.

Surge in booking pace

Virgin Voyages reported that its monthly booking pace rose from 20% above the prior year at the start of the day to more than 45% above it by the end.

Chief executive Nirmal Saverimuttu said the company has built strong momentum over the past eight months as a brand for adults travelling without children.
