Temperatures expected to reach 30 degrees again this weekend

A recent spell of cooler weather across the Netherlands will quickly come to an end as warmer conditions return ahead of the weekend.

National weather institute KNMI forecasts that temperatures will rise steadily over the next few days, pushing past 30 degrees Celsius in many regions by Sunday.

Sunshine and rising temperatures ahead

Thursday and Friday will bring mixed conditions, with a combination of cloud cover and sunshine across the country. Daytime highs on Thursday are expected to hover between 21 and 25 degrees with a moderate breeze coming from the west to northwest.

Friday will start somewhat cloudy in northern areas, but skies are expected to clear as the day progresses. Temperatures will reach up to 26 degrees towards the south, accompanied by lighter winds.

Summer conditions to persist next week

The weekend is set to be dry and sunny throughout the region. Saturday will mark a noticeable shift to warmer conditions, setting up a hot Sunday where temperatures could reach 31 degrees in southeastern areas.

Although early next week may bring a brief, slight dip in overall warmth, meteorologists expect summery conditions to hold steady. Warm weather is likely to continue into midweek, with predictions showing mercury levels climbing back above 30 degrees from Wednesday onward.
