Bakery Louf hosts Indonesian pop-up lunch

Bakery Louf in Oud-West is partnering with culinary duo De Vrouw met de Baard for a one-day pop-up lunch on Sunday, 20 September.

Chefs Mas van Putten and Carl Lemette-Polhaupessy will take over the bakery at Bilderdijkstraat 38 between 11:00 and 14:30. The pair, who authored the Netherlands’ first Moluccan cookbook, previously ran kitchens at Pakhuis de Zwijger, Tolhuistuin, and a restaurant in the Haarlemmerbuurt.

Lombok and Bali flavours

The lunch features a Louf brioche bun filled with ayam taliwang, a spicy and sweet smoked chicken dish from Lombok. A plant-based version using aubergine will also be available.

Each sandwich comes served with house-made fresh pickles and seasoned chips.

Neighbourhood collaborations

The event marks another local partnership led by Louf co-owner Mourad Saber. The bakery has previously teamed up with specialty coffee shop Crew de la Crema on Oostzaanstraat and Syrian restaurant Hummus Habibis on Spaarndammerstraat.

Saber also partners with Geen Stress Amsterdam, a delivery and courier service founded by Ibu Koike Hess that helps young people develop skills.
